Kathleen Peara

As a renowned and successful esthetician with over 40 years of experience and thousands of personally cared for skins, Kathleen Peara has been recognized as one of the most sought-after estheticians in Chicago.  Her philosophies and insights into the world of skin care have been seen in “Skin-Inc.”, “Chicago Magazine”, “Chicago Skyline” and “Janet Davies 190 North” to name just a few.  Her skincare protocols and services have never embraced “conventionalism”. Instead, her belief is simple as she incorporates ancient wisdom, nature, and science to deliver results-oriented skincare and wellness to her clients.

Kathleen began her career by attending Pivot Point International, a world- wide leader in the field of cosmetology and esthetics.  Here she secured the necessary hours for both an Illinois Cosmetology License and 450-hour Christine Valmay Bio-Esthetics Certificate. While finishing her studies, and after graduation, she was a medical assistant for a Chicago dermatologist.

Her educational path did not stop after securing her license or gaining knowledge as medical assistant for a Chicago dermatologist.  Kathleen has spent many years in the study of skin care, health, beauty, nutrition, Ayurvedic philosophy and treatments, energy work, and healing modalities.  She became A Reiki Master in 1996.

According to Kathleen Peara, “My gift is in my hands and my ability to nurture people. I have over the years introduced to my clients many modalities associated with beauty, health, and healing such as: aromatherapy, Reiki, sound and light healing, chakras, energy work, and Ayurvedic principles, and reflexology.  This has allowed me to address my clients in a more holistic approach and address the many needs an individual may reflect in the health and beauty of their skin.”

Courted by Orlane then Chanel, Kathleen managed and operated highly successful stand- alone treatment rooms from 1980 to 1986.  She was instrumental in setting up and managing each as a separate business.  In 1986 she was hired by Marilyn Miglin to create her Skin Supplement Institute.  Here she introduced MM clients to facials and her new treatment line Perfect Balance. Kathleen was instrumental in creating a complete training manual while also training the makeup artists in skin histology, skin analysis, and product knowledge for the Perfect Balance launch. This helped the staff in recommending Perfect Balance with confidence and resulted in increased sales in the salon.  During each of her positions, Kathleen secured a large clientele along with an increase in sales for each brand.

August 24, 1987, an expert in her own right, she opened her own private studio where she would be free to offer clients her brand of service experience.  The Kathleen Peara Studio opened with a large following and in short time she had a long waiting list of potential clients. She still sees clients today in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago.

Over the years Kathleen has continued her eclectic education and has gained tremendous empirical knowledge from her clients’ skin stories.  Always in the back of her mind, maybe one day she would have her own skincare line.

In early 2018, after many years as a practicing Esthetician, study, and research, Kathleen introduced to her private clients, KATHLEEN PEARA SKINCARE FOR LIFE.  This was a perfect fit for a highly trained and knowledgeable esthetician who understands ingredients and their effect on the skin.  Using the current science of peptide technologies in skincare and the wisdom of nature, each Collection was developed as a protocol for current skincare issues.

Today, Kathleen's new website is offering her Collections and soon Zoom sessions for those in need of a more personal skincare consultation.  The site offers ingredient information, product descriptions, how to use products, and blogs.  You will find her at kpearaskincareforlife.com

“When I started my career, I wanted to be the best!  Education was, and still is, important to me. When I opened my practice, my intention was a win-win situation. I would do what I loved doing and make a living, and all were welcome at my door who found value in what I had to offer. Today I seek to bring balance to my personal and professional life by bringing together ancient wisdom and modern-day reality in a wise and enlightened way.”
